Nostradamus speaks of a "King of the
World" called "Chiren" who will come from France and lead the western army into its victory over
the invading Islamic forces after the initial setback. "Chiren", also
mentioned as "Chyren" and "Chyren Selin" in various quatrains, appear to be
a key player during the World War III, similar to, but even greater in
stature than Roosevelt, Hitler or Churchill during the Second World War.
Nostradamus indicates that this leader will come from France. Along with
Chiren, there will come a Pope, probably from France, who will also play a crucial
role during the Third World War.
A few of
the quatrains of Nostradamus on "Chiren" are given below -
The great Chyren will be the Chief of the World, after "Plus oultre" loved,
feared and dreaded. His fame and praise go beyond the heavens and he will be
greatly satisfied with the sole title of victor -
VI.70
Of Trojan blood he will be born with a German heart and will rise to a
very great power. He will drive out the foreign, Arabic nation and return
the Church to her early glory - V.74
Selin king, Italy peaceful, kingdoms united by the Christian King of the
World. When he dies he will want to lie in Blois territory, having chased
the pirates from the sea - IV.77
The great man led captive from a foreign land, chained in gold, offered to
King CHYREN. He who in Ausonia, Milan will lose the war and all his army put
to fire and sword - IV.34
The king of Europe will come like a griffon, accompanied by those of the
North; he will lead a great troop of red and white, they will go against the
king of Babylon - X.80
The French Pope, who is contemporary to Chiren is also
mentioned in his prophecies -
Not from Spain
but from ancient France will he be elected for the trembling Ship. He will make a promise
to the enemy who will cause great plague during his reign - V.49
During this time there will also be a schism in the Vatican
with an Anti-Pope challenging the Pope for the Papal seat -
By the
appearance of the fake holiness, the seat will be betrayed to the enemies, in the night
when they thought to sleep safely; the people of Liege will march near Brabant
- VI.30
The Papal seat
will be moved away from Rome and the major powers will recognize this seat -
Through the
powers of three temporal kings, the sacred seat will be put in another place, where the
substance of the body and the spirit will be restored and received as the true seat
- VIII.99
At the end of
the War, Chiren will return to Rome with the Pope and the Papacy will be
restored -
The great Celt will enter Rome leading a crowd of exiled and banished. The
great Pastor will put to death every man who was united over the Alps
against the Cock - VI.28
In between, the Anti-Pope will die in the hands of the invading forces
inspite of an attempt to negotiate peace. The coming of Chiren - the Great
Monarch and the great French Pope has been foretold in many other prophecies
over the ages. Some of these prophecies also shed light on the events
that will take place during the World War III. Some of the relevant portions
of these prophecies are reproduced here -
Merlin (7th
century)
"There will
come a German Anti-Pope. Italy and Germany will be sorely troubled. A French
King will restore the true Pope."
.....
"In the
meanwhile a powerful Prince out of the East shall provoke him to battle.
Against whom the Lion shall march with all his forces and pitching his camp
on this side (west) of the Euphrates, shall await him. If the Prince shall
come over the river the Lion shall be overcome; but he (Lion) shall cross
the river with his army and give his enemy a bloody defeat and be master of
all the East.
St. Hildegard (d. 1179)
.........
"Before the Comet comes, many nations, the good excepted, will be scoured
with want and famine. The great nation in the ocean that is inhabited by
people of different tribes and descent
(USA?) by an earthquake, storm and tidal
waves will be devastated. It will be divided, and in great part be
submerged. That nation will also have many misfortunes at sea, and lose its
colonies in the East through a Tiger and a Lion (two other nations?). The
Comet by its tremendous pressure, will force much out of the ocean and flood
many countries, causing much want and many plagues. All sea coast cities
will be fearful and many of them will be destroyed by tidal waves, and most
living creatures will be killed and even those who escape will die from a
horrible disease. For in none of those cities does a person live according
to the laws of God."
"Peace will return to Europe when the white flower
(Bourbon Lily : Great
Monarch) again takes possession of the throne of France. During this time of
peace the people will be forbidden to carry weapons and iron will be used
only for making agricultural implements and tools. Also during this period
the soil will be very productive and many Jews, heathens and heretics will
join the Church."
The above prophecy mentions the comet (similar to
Nostradamus I.69) which will
strike the ocean causing tidal waves and inundation leading to many deaths
followed by pestilence.
It also speaks of the devastation of the USA and of the Great Monarch who
will restore peace and the Papacy.
Abbot Werdin d'Otrante
(13th cent.)
"The
Great Monarch and the Great Pope will precede Antichrist."
"The nations will be in wars for four years and a great part of the world
will be destroyed. All the sects will vanish. The capital of the world will
fall. The Pope will go over the sea carrying the sign of redemption on his
forehead, and after the victory of the Pope and the Great Monarch peace will
reign on earth."
"The Great Monarch will come to restore peace and the Pope will share in the
victory."
David Poreaus (d. 1622)
"The
Great Monarch will be of French descent, large forehead, large dark eyes,
light brown wavy hair and an eagle nose. He will crush the enemies of the
Pope and will conquer the East."
This prophecy gives a physical description of the Great
Monarch. Note the physical similarities with the present French President
Jaques Chirac. The name of Chirac is also close approximation of the name "Chiren", the
Great Monarch who also happens to come from France. However, in other
prophecies the age of the Great Monarch has been given as 40 years and is
often described as young and lame in one foot, which contradicts this
interpretation. It is possible that "Chiren" turns out to be a high ranking
military officer. "Chyren" or "Chiren" is often interpreted as Henryc
or Henry.
Rabanus Maurus was Benedictine Abbot of Fulda and Archbishop of Mainz. His
review of prophetic writings led him to write:
"Our
principal doctors agree in announcing to us that towards the end of time one
of the descendants of the kings of France shall reign over all the Roman
Empire; and that he shall be the greatest of the Empire; and that he shall
be the greatest of the French monarchs, and the last of his race."
"After having
most happily governed his kingdom, he will go to Jerusalem, and depose on
Mount Olive his sceptre and crown. This shall be the end and conclusion of
the Roman and Christian Empire."
St. Caesarius, Archbishop of Arles relates a
prophecy:
"When the entire world, and in a special manner
France, and in France more particularly the provinces of the north, of the
east, and above all, that of Lorraine and Champagne, shall have been a prey
to the greatest miseries and trials, then the provinces shall be succored by
a prince who had been exiled in his youth, and who shall recover the crown
of the lilies."
This prince shall extend his dominion over the
entire universe. At the same time there will be a great Pope, who will be
most eminent in sanctity and most perfect in every quality. This Pope shall
have with him the Great Monarch, a most virtuous man, who shall be a scion
of the holy race of the French kings. This Great Monarch will assist the
Pope in the reformation of the whole earth. Many princes and nations that
are living in error and impiety shall be converted, and an admirable peace
shall reign among men during many years, because the wrath of God shall be
appeased through their repentance, penance, and good works. There will be
one common law, only one faith, one baptism, one religion. All nations shall
recognize the Holy See of Rome, and shall pay homage to the Pope. But after
some considerable time fervor shall cool, iniquity shall abound, and moral
corruption shall become worse than ever, which shall bring upon mankind the
last and worst persecution of the Antichrist, and the end of the world."
John of Vitiguerro (13th Century)
The pope will change his residence and the
Church will not be defended for twenty-five months or more because, during
all that time there will be no Pope in Rome... After many tribulations, a
Pope shall be elected out of those who survived the persecutions.
This prophecy indicates that there will
not be any Pope in Rome for almost two years.
John of the Cleft Rock (14th Century)
Towards the end of the world, tyrants and
hostile mobs will rob the Church and the clergy of all their possessions and
will afflict and martyr them. Those who heap the most abuse upon them will
be held in high esteem.
At that time, the Pope with his cardinals will
have to flee Rome in tragic circumstances to a place where they will be
unknown. The Pope will die a cruel death in his exile. The sufferings of the
Church will be much greater than at any previous time in her history. But
God will raise a holy Pope, and the Angels will rejoice. Enlightened by God,
this man will rebuild almost the whole world through his holiness. He will
lead everyone to the true Faith.
Here it seems that one Pope will flee Rome
and will die in exile. Another Pope, probably the French Pope, will be
elected later. This echoes the previous prophecy. However, it does not quite
tally with the version that it is the French Pope who will flee.
Pope Pius X (1835 - 1914)
"What I have seen is terrifying! Will I be the
one, or will it be a successor? What is certain is that the Pope will leave
Rome and, in leaving the Vatican, he will have to pass over the dead bodies
of his priests!" "Do not tell anyone this while I am alive."
I saw one of my successors taking to flight
over the bodies of his brethren. He will take refuge in disguise somewhere
and after a short retirement he will die a cruel death. The present
wickedness of the world is only the beginning of the sorrows which must take
place before the end of the world.. "Respect for God has disappeared from
human hearts. They wish to efface even God's memory. This perversity is
nothing less than the beginning of the last days of the world."
The Third Secret of Fatima
"J.M.J.
The third part of the secret revealed at the
Cova da Iria-Fatima, on 13 July 1917.
I write in obedience to you, my God, who
command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through
your Most Holy Mother and mine.
After the two parts which I have already
explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with
a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked
as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact
with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand:
pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud
voice: 'Penance, Penance, Penance!'. And we saw in an immense light that is
God: 'something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in
front of it' a Bishop dressed in White 'we had the impression that it was
the Holy Father'. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a
steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn
trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy
Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with
halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the
corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his
knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who
fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after
another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay
people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross
there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which
they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls
that were making their way to God.
Tuy-3-1-1944".
The above is the official version of the Third secret
released by the Vatican after much speculations. But it is suspected by many
that Vatican did not publish the whole text of the Third Secret. Moreover,
the interpretation of the above text by the Vatican, which was much more in
length than the Third Secret itself, was that the actual meaning of the
Third Secret is not what it seems. Vatican interpreted the above as
foretelling the Assassination attempt on Pope John Paul II which took place
in the 1980s and not the actual assassination of the Pope on a future date,
which the Third Secret appears to speak of. Surprisingly, the published
portion of the Third Secret, if we accept the plain text without any
interpretations, prophesizes the death of a fleeing Pope and other clergy
men at the hands of soldiers following a revolution which engulfs the
Vatican. This is very similar to the other prophecies and visions that have
been quoted in this page on the same subject.
This Pope might be Pope John Paul II or more likely the one
who would be elected after him. It is very unlikely that the age and the
physical condition of the present Pope, who is mostly wheel-chair bound,
would permit him to flee in the manner described in these prophecies. After
the death of the Pope at the hands of soldiers, as the next prophecy states,
there would be several competing Popes at the same time but ultimately, a
French Pope would be elected abroad and would be accepted universally as the
true Pope. Finally, this Pope would return to the Vatican with the Great
Monarch after the war and re-establish the Papacy in Vatican. A literal
interpretation of the Third Secret thus conforms to the other prophecies and
the twisted "interpretation" of the Vatican seems to be a denial of the
obvious. In this connection, one of Sister Lucia's letter hints at the role
of Russia in the great war and the attack on Vatican -
Sister Lucia's 12th May 1982 letter to the Pope
"The third part of the secret refers to Our Lady's words: 'If not [Russia]
will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions
of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to
suffer; various nations will be annihilated' (13-VII-1917).
The third part of the secret is a symbolic revelation, referring to this
part of the Message, conditioned by whether we accept or not what the
Message itself asks of us: 'If my requests are heeded, Russia will be
converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors
throughout the world, etc.'.
Since we did not heed this appeal of the Message, we see that it has been
fulfilled, Russia has invaded the world with her errors. And if we have not
yet seen the complete fulfillment of the final part of this prophecy, we are
going towards it little by little with great strides. If we do not reject
the path of sin, hatred, revenge, injustice, violations of the rights of the
human person, immorality and violence, etc.
And let us not say that it is God who is punishing us in this way; on the
contrary it is people themselves who are preparing their own punishment. In
his kindness God warns us and calls us to the right path, while respecting
the freedom he has given us; hence people are responsible".
As per the Vatican's interpretation, the
conversion of Russia took place after the fall of Communism. But many people
think otherwise and if the other prophecies of Russia's role in the WW III
are considered, the fall of communism was not the conversion of Russia that
the Vatican seeks to portray but worse is yet to come from Russia.
Capuchin Friar (1776)
"All the
ecclesiastics, both secular and regular, shall be stripped of all their
possessions, and of every kind of property, and obliged to beg from lay
persons their food and everything necessary for their support, and for the
worship of God. All religious orders will be abolished, except one having
the rules of the most rigid and most severe institute of the ancient monks.
During these calamities the Pope shall die. Through the death of the Supreme
Pontiff the Church will be reduced to the most painful anarchy, because from
three hostile powers three popes will be contemporaneously elected: one
Italian, another German, the third Greek, by force of arms, shall be placed
on the throne. During this time much human blood shall be shed in Italy, and
many cities, country towns, and castles shall be brought to ruin, with the
death of many thousands of persons.
"By the Catholic clergy and people the true and lawful Pope will be elected,
who shall be a man of great holiness and goodness of life, selected from the
surviving monastic order mentioned above.
"A scion of the Carlovingian race, by all considered extinct, will come to
Rome to behold and admire the clemency of this Pontiff, who will crown him,
and declare him to be the legitimate Emperor of the Romans, and from the
Chair of St. Peter, the Pope will lift up the standard, the crucifix, and
will give it to the new emperor.
"This new emperor, with the robust Italian and French people, and with those
of other nations, will form a most Powerful host, called the Church Army,
through which he shall destroy the Ottoman Empire, all heresies, and shall
also totally defeat the Emperor of the North, who is called Mystic
Anti-Christ.
"The above mentioned new emperor, with the assistance of God and of the
Pope, will cooperate to the reformation of abuses; will assume (with the
free consent of the Pope) the management of the temporal government; will
assign a decent pension to the Supreme Pontiff, and also the bishops and
clergy: and they all, being detached from earthly covetousness, will live in
peace, which shall last till the end of time.
"Finally, the Pope will select twelve subjects of his religion, whom he will
send through the world to preach missions. They shall have the power of
converting the nations to the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, excepting the
Hebrews, who are reserved for the end of the world."
Abbot "Merlin" Joachim (1480-1541)
Abbot Joachim Merlin was a canon of Notre Dame; in 1529 he became the grand
penitentiary after being imprisoned for two years in the court of Francis I,
and he was exiled in Nantes for a year because of his opposition to the
Lutherans. Upon his return to Paris in 1530 he became the vicar-general. The
following lengthy prophecy of his is about the Great Pope:
"After many prolonged sufferings endured by Christians, and after a too
great effusion of innocent blood, the Lord shall give peace and happiness to
the desolated nations. A remarkable pope will be seated on the pontifical
throne, under the special protection of the angels. Holy and full of
gentleness, he shall undo all wrong, he shall recover the states of the
Church, and reunite the exiled temporal powers. He shall be revered by all
people, and shall recover the kingdom of Jerusalem. As the only Pastor he
shall reunite the Eastern to the Western Church, and thus only one faith
will be in vigor. The sanctity of this beneficent Pontiff will be so great
that the highest potentates shall bow before his presence. This holy man
shall crush the arrogance of religious schism and heresy. All men will
return to the primitive Church, and there shall be only one pastor, one law,
one master --- humble, modest, and fearing God. The true God of the Jews,
our Lord Jesus Christ, will make everything prosper beyond all human hope,
because God alone can and will pour down on the wounds of humanity the oily
balm of sweetness.
"The heavens proclaim the glory of God, and the faithful are in joy and
happiness, because the Lord has vouchsafed to be merciful to them. He shall
invite his elect to the banquet of the Lamb, where melodious canticles and
harmonious concerts will be heard.
"The power of this Pontiff's holiness will be so great as to be able to
check the fury and impetuosity of threatening waves. Mountains shall be
lowered before him, the sea shall be dried up, the dead shall be raised, the
churches shall be reopened and altars erected.
"It
should be known that there will be two heads, one in the East, and the other
in the West. This Pope shall break the weapons and scatter the fighting
hordes. He will be the joy of God's elect. This angelic pope will preach the
gospel in every country. Through his zeal and solicitude the Greek Church
shall be forever reunited to the Catholic Church.
"Before, however, being firmly and solidly established in the Holy See,
there will be innumerable wars and violent conflicts during which the sacred
throne shall be shaken. But through the favor of divine clemency, moved by
the prayers of the faithful, everything will succeed so well that they shall
be able to sing hymns of thanksgiving to the glory of the Lord.
"This holy Pope shall be both pastor and reformer. Through him the East and
West shall be in everlasting concord. The city of Babylon shall then be the
head and guide of the world. Rome, weakened in temporal power, shall forever
preserve her spiritual dominion, and shall enjoy great peace. During these
happy days the Angelic Pope shall be able to address to Heaven prayers full
of sweetness. The dispersed nation shall also enjoy tranquillity. Six and a
half years after this time the Pope will render his soul to God. The end of
his days shall arrive in an arid province, situated between a river and a
lake near the mountains...
"At
the beginning, in order these happy results, having need of a powerful
temporal assistance, this holy Pontiff will ask the cooperation of the
generous monarch of France. At that time a handsome monarch, a scion of King
Pepin, will come as a pilgrim to witness the splendor of this glorious
pontiff, whose name shall begin with "R."... A temporal throne being vacant,
the Pope shall place on it this king whose assistance he shall ask.
"When a monster shall appear in the sky, thou shalt find a ready escape
towards the east, and after nine years thou shalt render thy soul to God.
"A
man of remarkable sanctity will be his successor in the Pontifical chair.
Through him God will work so many prodigies that all men shall revere him,
and no person will dare to oppose his holy precepts. He shall not allow the
clergy to have many benefices. He will induce them to live by tithes and
offerings of the faithful. He shall interdict pomp in dress, and all
immorality in dance and songs. He will preach the gospel in person, and
exhort all honest ladies to appear in public without any ornament of gold or
precious stones. After having occupied the Holy See for a long time he shall
happily return to the Lord.
"His three immediate successors shall be men of exemplary holiness. One
after the other will be models of virtue, and shall work miracles,
confirming the teaching of their predecessors. Under their government the
Church shall spread, and these Popes shall be called the Angelic Pastors."
Here it is mentioned that the name of the
Pope will begin with "R". Whether this could be indicating the papacy of
Cardinal Ratzinger, only time will tell. The work of this particular Pope,
recovering Jerusalem during his reign and establishing peace and unification
of Churches, perhaps signifies the reason why St. Malachy calls him "The
Glory of the Olive". However, the allusion to war during his Papacy is also
significant -
"Before, however, being firmly and solidly established in the Holy See,
there will be innumerable wars and violent conflicts during which the sacred
throne shall be shaken."
St. Malachy
O'Morgair (1095?-1148)
The last but one Pope before the end of the
world is named by Malachi as De Gloria Olivae or "From the Glory of the
Olives": The Order of Saint Benedict has claimed that this pope will come
from their ranks. Saint Benedict reportedly prophesied that before the end of
the world his Order, known also as the Olivetans, will triumphantly lead the
Catholic Church in its fight against evil.
Starting from Pope Celestine II in 1143,
Malachy mentioned 112 Popes till the "End of the World". Against each of
their names, he mentioned some symbolic descriptions, which were found to be
amazingly accurate. The last 10 Popes were described by Malachy in the
following manner -
1.
The Burning Fire. PIUS X. 1903-1914.
This Pope showed a burning passion for
spiritual renewal in the Church.
2.
Religion Laid Waste.
BENEDICT XV. 1914-1922. During this
Pope's reign saw Communism move into Russia where religious life was laid
waste, and World War I with the death of millions of Christians who were
carnage in Flanders Field and elsewhere.
3.
Unshaken Faith. PIUS XI. 1922-1939.
This Pope faced tremendous pressure from
fascist and sinister powers in Germany and Italy, but he was an outspoken
critic of Communism and Fascism which enraged Hitler.
4.
An Angelic Shepherd. PIUS XII. 1939-1958.
This Pope had an affinity for the spiritual
world and received visions which have not been made public. Peter Bander
says Pius XII "has emerged as one of the great Popes of all time," and he
"was in the truest sense of the word an Angelic Pastor to the flock..."
5.
Pastor and Mariner. JOHN XXIII. 1958-1963.
John was a pastor to the world, much beloved,
and the Patriarch of Venice. The connection to "mariner" is thus remarkable.
6.
Flower of Flowers. PAUL VI. 1963-1978.
Paul's coat-of-arms depicts three
fleurs-de-lis, corresponding to Malachay's prophecy. His coat of arms
included three fleurs-de-lis (iris blossoms).
7.
Of the Half Moon. JOHN PAUL
I. 1978-1978. John Paul I was
elected Pope on August 26, 1978, when there was a half moon. He reigned 33
days, that is, about one month, when he died, although many think he was
murdered. He was the 109th Pope - is "De Medietate Lunae" (Of the Half
Moon). The corresponding pope was John Paul I (1978-78), who was born in the
diocese of Belluno (beautiful moon) and was baptized Albino Luciani (white
light). He became pope on August 26, 1978, when the moon appeared exactly
half full. It was in its waning phase. He died the following month, soon
after an eclipse of the moon.
8.
The Labor of the Sun. JOHN PAUL II. 1978-2005.
Pope John Paul II was born on May 18,
1920. On that date in the morning there was a near total eclipse of the sun
in the Southern Hemisphere. Malachy's prophecy regarding the 110th Pope is "De Labore
Solis" (Of the Solar Eclipse, or, From the Toil of the Sun). John Paul II's
date of burial was set for 8th April, 2005 when another solar eclipse takes
place in the Southern Hemisphere, thus making Malachy's prophecy more
meaningful. The burial must take place within 4 to 6 days of the death of a
Pope and even if we consider that human intervention made it to coincide
with the solar eclipse which happened on the 5th Day from his death, still
no rule was bent to make that happen and this was one of the two solar
eclipses that takes place in 2005.
9.
The Glory of the Olive.
The Order of St. Benedict has said this
Pope will come from their order. It is interesting that Jesus gave his
apocalyptic prophecy about the end of time from the Mount of Olives. This
Pope will reign during the beginning of the tribulation Jesus spoke of. The
111th prophesy is "Gloria Olivae" (The Glory of the Olive). At
the time of election there would be only one Cardinal named Paul Augustine
Mayer who is Benedictine, but he is above 80 and cannot vote although he can
be elected a Pope. So there is a rare chance that the next Pope would be a
Benedictine. St. Malachy may have meant something else. He could have meant
a Pope with a formerly Jewish background or in some way connected to Israel,
a Pope who takes the name of Benedict
or even be black in color. Hopefully, we would come to understand that after
the Pope is elected.
Update : -
Cardinal Ratzinger was elected as Pope on 19th April, 2005 and took the name
Pope Benedict XVI. The decision may have been taken consciously, as
Vatican approves of St. Malachy's prophecy. St. Benedict established the
order of the Benedictines or "Olivetans" as they are popularly known.
Although Ratzinger is not from the order but by taking the name Benedict,
who started the order, the prophecy was perhaps made to fulfill. The true
reason for assigning the phrase "The Glory of the Olive" to this Pope may
yet lie in his future deeds rather than in the choice of his name, if the
prophecies of Abbott Joachim Merlin are anything to go by.
10.
PETER THE ROMAN - This final Pope
will likely be Satan, taking the form of a man named Peter who will gain a
worldwide allegiance and adoration. He will be the final antichrist which
prophecy students have long foretold. If it were possible, even the very
elect would be deceived. The 112th prophesy states: "In the final
persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Petrus Romanus, who
will feed his flock amid many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled
city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The
End."
Malachy's final words, "Rome, the seat of the Vatican, will be destroyed and
the dreadful Judge will judge the people."
Venerable
Bartholomew Holzhauser (17th Century)
The fifth period of the Church, which began circa 1520, will end with the
arrival of the holy Pope and of the powerful Monarch who is called "Help
From God" because he will restore everything. The fifth period is one of
affliction, desolation, humiliation, and poverty for the Church. Jesus
Christ will purify His people through cruel wars, famines, plagues,
epidemics, and other horrible calamities. He will also afflict and weaken
the Latin Church with many heresies. It is a period of defections,
calamities and exterminations. Those Christians who survive the sword,
plague and famines, will be few on earth.
.......
These are the evil times, a century full of dangers and calamities. Heresy
is everywhere, and the followers of heresy are in power almost everywhere.
but God will permit a great evil against His Church: Heretics and tyrants
will come suddenly and unexpectedly; they will break into the Church. They
will enter Italy and lay Rome waste; they will burn down churches and
destroy everything.
Other
Prophecies on the Rise of the Great Monarch
Rudolph Gekner, 17th Century:
"His sword will be moved by Divine power..."
Monk Adso (10th Century):
"Some of our teachers say that a King of the Franks will possess the entire
Roman Empire. He will be the greatest and last of all Monarchs. After having
wisely governed his kingdom, he will go into Jerusalem and will lay his
sceptre and his crown upon the Mount of Olives. Immediately afterwards,
Antichrist will come."
St. Francis of Paola (15th Century):
"By the grace of the Almighty, the great Monarch will annihilate heretics
and unbelievers. He will have a great army, and angels will fight at his
side. He will be like the sun among the stars. His influence will spread
over the whole earth. All in all, there will be on earth twelve Kings, one
Emperor, one Pope, and a few Princes. They will all lead holy lives."
St. Augustine, 5th Century):
"A Frankish King will one day rule over the entire Roman Empire."
Old Saxon prophecy:
"He will come from the Fleur-de-Lis..."
St. Cataldus, 5th Century:
"... a King of the House of Lilies..."
St. Caesar, 5th Century:
"He shall recover the Crown of the Lilies....."
St. Hildegarde, German Abbess, 12th Century:
"The White Flower again takes possession of the Throne of France."
Bishop Ageda, 12th Century:
"He shall inherit the Crown of the Fleur-de-Lis"
Busto (15th Century):
"The angelic Pope
shall place an imperial crown on his head."
Remy (5th Century):
"He shall reign over the entire ancient Roman Empire."
Aystinger:
" ... by whom the ancient glory of the Empire shall be restored. He shall be
Emperor of Europe."
St. Francis de Paola (15th Century):
"(He and the Holy Pontiff) shall obtain dominion over the whole world.
Holzhauser:
"He will restore everything."
St. Hildegarde:
"Peace will return when the Lily ascends the Throne again. The land will be
very productive."
St. Bridget:
"And the earth shall enjoy peace and prosperity."
St. John-Mary Vianney, Cur‚ of Ars (19th
Century):
"This shall re-establish a peace and prosperity without precedent."
Here are some prophecies
worth mentioning of the Great Monarch, because of their similarity and
statements that he will walk with a limp....
(Old German prophecy):
"He will be lame afoot ... "
(Anne-Catherine Emmerich, 19th Century):
"God touched the sinew of his hip. He was in great pain and from that day
on, he walked with a limp ... "
(Peasant Jasper, Germany):
"This Prince shall mount his horse on the right-hand side, because he limps
from one foot .... "
Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, July 12, 1820:
"I had a
vision of the holy Emperor Henry. I saw him at night kneeling alone at the
foot of the main altar in a great and beautiful church . . . and I saw the
Blessed Virgin coming down all alone. She laid on the altar a red cloth
covered with white linen. She placed a book inlaid with precious stones. She
lit the candles and the perpetual lamp . . . Then came down the Saviour
Himself clad in priestly vestiments. He was carrying the chalice and the
veil. Two Angels were serving Him and two more were following . . . His
chasuble was a full and heavy mantle in which red and white could be seen in
transparency, and gleaming with jewels . . . Although there was no altar
bell, the cruets were there. The wine was red as blood, and thgere was also
some water. The Mass was short. The Gospel of St. John was not read at the
end. When the Mass has ended, Mary came up to Henry (the Emperor), and she
extended her right hand towards him, saying that it was in recognition of
his purity. Then, she urged him not to falter. Thereupon I saw an angel, and
he touched the sinew of his hip, like Jacob. He (Henry) was in great pain,
and from that day on, he walked with a limp . . . "
Here the name of the Great
Monarch is mentioned an Henry. Some people interpret Chyren, mentioned by
Nostradamus as Henryc or Henry.
Here are some prophecies
on the death of the Great Monarch...
Cataldu:
"He will at length lay down his Crown in Jerusalem."
Bl. R. Maurus (9th Century):
"He will go to Jerusalem, and lay down his Sceptre and Crown on Mount Olive.
Thus shall come the end of the Christian Roman Empire."
Monk Adso (10th Century):
"He will finally go to Jerusalem and lay down his Sceptre and Crown upon the
Mount of Olives. Immediately afterwards, Antichrist will come."
St. Augustine (5th Century):
"He shall give up the ghost at Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives."
St. Remy (5/6th Century):
"At the end of his most glorious reign, he shall go to Jerusalem, and shall
lay down his Crown and Sceptre on the Mount of Olives."
However in IV.77
Nostradamus says that
"When he dies he will want to lie in Blois territory, having chased
the pirates from the sea - " .
Although this seems to contradict the above
Prophecies, it might be that Chiren dies in Jerusalem but his body will be
brought to France, his country of birth and will be laid to rest there.
There is an alternative translation which says that "...he will want to lie
in Blessed territory...", in which case, the blessed territory might be
Jerusalem / Israel.
In conclusion, it can
be said that all the prophecies broadly agree that "A Great Monarch" from
France and "A Great Pope" will appear during the war and will play a key
role in the victory of the West and establishment of subsequent peace.
However, these prophecies also indicate that the common assumption of a
Christian versus Muslim war scenario might be too simplistic. Even
with a grand alliance among the Islamic countries, the Western alliance
would not face such a tough challenge unless powerful countries like Russia or China
ally with the Islamic nations. Evidently, natural disasters in USA and
elsewhere, diseases (natural or due to use of biological weapon), use of
nuclear weapons, internal
strife in Europe and in the Vatican and particularly the striking of a
Comet at the Sea causing tidal waves and millions of deaths will all
contribute to the course of the war.
After the war is over,
a period of peace will prevail in the world. However, after some
time, tribulations will once again arise in the world and in the Vatican and
finally the present civilization will come to an end with the event referred
to as the "Three Days of Darkness". It is said that after those three days
only a quarter of the human population will survive. The prophecies on post
World War III events up to the "Three Days of Darkness" will be discussed in
a separate article.
